Curcumin, considered the most bioactive and soothing portion of the herb tumeric, shows protective effects on the liver. It also inhibits the COX-II enzyme and is a powerful antioxidant. When taken alone, curcumin has very poor absorption. Bioperine® greatly enhances the bioavailability of curcumin.
